Making MOO MiniCards

October 26th, 2006

Jason’s Goldman’s post on MOO Flickr MiniCards reminded me that I wanted to get some for handing out when I met new folks here in NZ.

Making the cards is very easy. You pick your photos, then position them within a cropping outline. It’s low weight creativity. And a lot of fun.

There are a number [...]

Helpful Dialogs

August 16th, 2006

I’ve recently started using the web based GTalk that’s available through Gmail. It’s pretty handy for quick little things. Occasionally I’ll even “pop-out” one of the chat boxes into it’s own window, for a longer conversation.

That’s when trouble starts…

I’m not accustom to having chat tied to a browser window or to leaving my email open [...]

Tagging convention

June 5th, 2006

Spaces are used to separate individual tags when adding tags in del.icio.us.

March 13th, 2006

I’m starting to feel like the only person that doesn’t like 30 Boxes. Nik Cubrilovic recently wrote a post entitled 30 Boxes Ready To Take Out Online Calendar Space, for Techcrunch. His conclusion:

It was a combination of the nice interface, usability and these simple features that have made 30 Boxes my default calendar now.

That last [...]

Updated Odeo audio page

October 25th, 2005

I prefer to listen to podcasts on the Odeo site (I forget about it if it’s on my iPod). Their latest update of the audio page is a nice improvement. It’s big and simple and clean – My favorite things. Plus they’ve added a per epissode image, adding in a bit of extra personality. All [...]

Trouble free tagging in web apps

October 20th, 2005

Tagging content is work of the worst kind – Production Work. Yet hundreds of thousands of people are doing it every day on the web. Apps like Flickr and Del.icio.us have gone a long way to show tagging can be worth the trouble… Now we need more apps that make tagging less trouble.
